Club Boats

We have the following Club Boats available for use by Members and their guests. They are only available during a club event and when a safety boat is in place.

Club boats are primarily for members who are new to sailing and do not yet have their own boat. We would hope that when the new member had decided that sailing was for them, they would purchase their own boat and so create an opportunity for the next new sailor to join the club to try out their skills on the club boats.

There is a small daily fee payable, which is currently £5 for a single-handed boat and £10 for the 2 person RS Vision. All fees should be paid on the day before taking a boat out.

Topper

The Topper is a single handed boat which is very simple to rig and sail. Rugged and safe to soak up any punishment, light enough to be responsive, the Topper will inspire confidence in total newcomers and is ideal for juniors. Calshot Sailing Club currently has 6 Toppers available; two of which have been adapted for centre main which makes them ideal for racing.

Topaz Taz

The Topaz TAZ provides the perfect platform for young sailors. Outstanding stability and easily controlled rig options allow youngsters to progress at their own individual pace. Laser Pico

The Laser Pico is a very popular boat with training establishments. She is stable and simple enough for almost anyone to get in and sail. She has a main and a jib and is suitable for either solo or 2-up sailing - if sailing on your own, depending on your skill level or experience, the jib can be furled away and the main can be reefed using Laser's roll-up reefing system.

Laser Classic

The Laser Classic is a one design racing dinghy which is probably Calshot Sailing Club's largest adult fleet. It is available with two sail options for varying conditions. Although the Laser is probably the oldest of the dinghys available, it is still fast, competitive and a popular choice with adults who do not own their own boat.

RS Vision

The RS Vision is Calshot Sailing Club's newest boat; it's a 2 person / family boat that is roomy, stable and great to sail. It is new to 2008 and will be sure to be a popular choice.
