Calshot Sailing Club is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association - Southern Region.
The following lists some of the facilities available to members and visitors:
There is a secure boat pound in which you can store your boat all year.
This is security protected and patrolled by Calshot Activities Centre security.
You do not need to have your own boat to sail at Calshot.
The Club has a fleet of dinghys, including Taz, Topper, Pico, Laser and an RS Vision, which are available to sail for a small fee. Please click here for more information.
The Club is open to all - wheelchair access is provided to the compound and clubroom.
There is a separate changing room with toilet and shower for disabled members or visitors.
Concrete slipway for launching and landing directly onto the Solent with a shingle beach either side.
There is a Weather Station and Webcam at the clubhouse, which is available live on the internet so you can see what the conditions are like before getting in the car!
The Club is located here at Calshot Spit in the Western Solent but we cover all of the Waterside in particular and all of Southern Hampshire in general.
The club house and beach area offer a warm, dry viewing position for spectators.
Viewing extends to the Cowes area on the Isle of Wight which is within easy sailing distance.
Facilities are provided for preparing hot food and drinks and there is a comfortable dry seating area.
The Club has an active programme of Sailing Events almost every weekend from March to December (when tides suitable) and some weekday evenings in the Summer.
The Club has 2 Safety Boats which are used during club events.
Members are encouraged to learn how to provide safety cover as part of their OOD duties, for which training is provided.
The Club has an active programme of Social events.
These are mainly held out of sailing season, although we regularly hold informal events during the summer after sailing.
Calshot Sailing Club runs a Coaching Programme for Junior members. Instructors are RYA qualified.
Calshot Sailing Club is a member of Southampton Water Sailing Association which encourages inter club sailing events in the Southampton Water area.
Car parking is plentiful, either through NFDC or Calshot Activities Centre at separate cost.
Car parking is charged per hour or an annual season ticket is available for unlimited use if required.
There is a camping/caravanning area a very short walking distance from the club at separate cost.
